Things have been a little hectic here in Cascade Country. High summer has hit with high temps and hot wind, along with a few thunderstorms that have started some fires and we are in full fledged fire-mode here. The neighbors to the east of us (the airport) have lots of company including three fire fighting helicopters and ALL the vehicles, man-power and porta-potties that go where they go. The horizon is smokey and the sunsets are glorious (one of the benefits of the smoke).
One thing looming on the horizon is minor knee surgery on my knee. I have been hurting for 2 months now so even though I dread ( I know that’s a strong word but it fits in this instance) surgery of any kind I am actually looking forward to it. I know that there will be recovery time afterwards but at least there will be a “light at the end of the tunnel” so to speak. This really is not a big worry and there are people who I know and love dearly who are going through way tougher times yet I know that my Heavenly Father cares enough about each one of us to be with us individually in our time of need. Nuf Said!
I want to share some wonderful flowers that I have growing in my yard. They are called Canterbury Bells. I planted them from seeds a few years ago and those darlings have been coming back every year. I think it is amazing because there are many plants that I can not get to come back because we are in a “cold pocket” being close to the river. But these Beauties have braved the fierce winter and have come back three times. See what you think?
I am also going to post a picture I got off google when I searched for Canterbury Bells just so you can get a better idea of what they look like.
I am reminded of the verse that talks about how Solomon in all his glory was not as beautiful as the flowers of the field. God is so creative!!!
